As a hatchling, Ono looked mostly the same, except that he is smaller and his crest feathers are more rounded. Ono is a narrowly built bird with a very skinny pair of black legs that are striped with orange, which lead to a pair of orange claws. The end of each claw also has a black spot. His upper body is compact, with pure white feathers across the main part of his body. Some pale orange and yellow feathers reach into the end of his wings and form a band around his neck. He has a long, pointy orange beak and lavender circles across his large eyes. His eyelids are a slightly more bluish shade. Atop his head, he sports a crest of five feathers of differing lengths, starting off with a light yellow at the bases and transitioning to a slightly dark tangerine orange near the tips. His Mark of the Guard was silver and could be found on his left wing. As a teenager, Journey-to-the-Pride-Lands (723) As a Teenager Ono’s appearance remains virtually the same, though he is shown to have gotten taller along with the others: in the past, Ono only reached up to Bunga’s shoulders, while his teenaged self is shown to reach halfway up Bunga's face. Following his exposure inside the volcano in the final battle against Scar, Ono loses much of his eyesight, leaving his black eyes a pale purple. After passing on the position of Keenest of Sight to Anga, Ono gains a steely grey Mark of the Guard to represent his new role as the Lion Guard's Smartest. Ono's vision is later restored by Queen Janna at the Tree of Life, giving his eyes their original colour back. However, Ono's vision won't ever be as good as it used to be when he was Keenest of Sight. He lost his Mark of the guard and now possesses a Mark of the Night Pride which is the same steely grey colour as before, but on his right wing.
