Description:
The goal of this merge was to produce an artsy or painterly kind of vibe. On that front, I wouldn't exactly call it a success, as it came out way less painting-like than I was hoping for. I still like the overall style and vibe though, so I decided to keep it and share it. Below I'll go over its strengths and weaknesses.
The good: While not quite looking like a painting, it does a very good job with textures and shadows, especially in stuff like hair and clothes. It is also very good at adding random detail to fill out your images and make them look more epic and majestic. I definitely think this concept was learned from its knowledge of artwork.
The bad: While it is good at producing the presence of fine detail, the quality of fine details is frequently not great. Everything can look very smudgy and not that crisply defined, especially when you zoom in. Also, it is really bad at hands and fingers, like even by SD1.5 standards. I really regret trying to brute force ok-looking hands on my showcase images as it was a really painful experience, and I wish I would have just saved time by prompting for "arms behind back" instead.
So, if you like the look of the showcase images, feel free to use this model to create stuff in a similar style. And who knows, if you try prompting with more artistic-minded wording than I did, you might be able to tease out more of its ingrained art knowledge than I was able to!
Troubleshooting:
As mentioned above, you will more than likely experience some issues with anatomy - hands, fingers, general jank, etc. If you're running into problems, just try your best with all the usual fixes - different prompting, use a different VAE, try different clip skip values, use adetailer, inpaint, etc. Specifically for hands, if you get frustrated, just prompt to hide them: arms behind back, arms behind head, arms/hands out of frame, etc.
Outro:
If you make anything awesome, please consider posting them to the gallery! That goes for all of my models! I really like seeing what kind of stuff you all are able to make!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I will try my best to help! Also, if you have any ideas for future models, please don't hesitate to share them with me!
