Prompt

An unfinished traditional Japanese dark fantasy RPG illustration, painted by hand using rough opaque gouache, diluted watercolor and graphite pencil on textured paper. The artwork has the spontaneous appearance of an old fantasy game artbook concept sketch. Its brushwork is loose, uneven and expressive. Large areas of clothing are formed by broad, unblended strokes of paint. Sketch lines remain visible beneath the colors, with broken contours, overlapping pencil marks and partially unfinished edges. Two adult characters stand and sit among enormous ruined Gothic architectural structures. On the left, a slender adult woman with delicate feminine facial features and extremely long dark brown hair stands slightly behind and above the other character. She wears a dark indigo fitted bodice, loose ivory sleeves and a layered blue-and-cream ceremonial dress. Her back is turned three-quarters toward the viewer, while her head turns slightly over her shoulder. Strong wind carries her long hair and flowing skirt almost horizontally toward the left. On the right, a rugged adult man with messy medium-length black hair sits on the edge of a massive diagonal stone structure. He wears layered black medieval leather armor, dark metal shoulder protection, weathered leather boots and a heavy black cloak. His body leans slightly backward, one leg extended diagonally toward the lower left, the other bent. His face is shown in a quiet left-facing profile. His enormous black cloak spreads down across the lower-right foreground. The cloak is painted as a mass of rough charcoal, indigo, muted violet and blue-black brushstrokes, with unfinished ragged edges dissolving into the surrounding architecture. A near-square environmental composition. The two figures occupy the middle portion of the image, leaving plenty of atmospheric space around them. The standing woman is higher and farther back on the left, while the seated man is closer on the right. The diagonal stone structure and windblown fabrics create sweeping movement across the entire painting. Behind them are immense ruined Gothic arches, skeletal stone vaults and fragments of an ancient cathedral. Most of the architecture is only loosely indicated through faint, overlapping pencil lines and pale blue-gray watercolor washes. Some architectural forms fade into the cloudy sky before their outlines are completed. The palette consists of dusty pale blue, weathered ivory, desaturated indigo, dirty lavender-gray, charcoal black and small touches of muted brown. Soft overcast daylight illuminates the scene without glossy highlights or dramatic cinematic lighting. The faces and a few small costume ornaments receive selective detail, while the hair, fabrics, cloak and architecture remain visibly rough and loosely painted. The entire image should retain the imperfect, exploratory character of a traditional hand-painted working illustration rather than the appearance of a finished digital fantasy poster.
