Quinnique, two extraordinarily handsome adult men in a sprawling sunlit field, one with deep brown skin, short sculptural curls, thick eyebrows, and a broad expressive nose, the other with pale skin, long copper hair, freckles, and a narrow crooked nose, dressed in casual oversized clothing and mismatched jewelry, attempting to rescue a tiny injured bird together, one man kneeling in the grass while the other crouches beside him holding a makeshift nest in his cupped hands, their shoulders pressed together, both intensely concentrating with ridiculous seriousness, dozens of healthy birds launching from the surrounding wildflowers in a great spiral around them, feathers and petals scattering through the air, one bird stealing a ribbon from the first man’s hair, miniature nests hidden throughout the grass, a distant flock forming a sweeping shape against the sky, lively gestures, distinctly different facial structures, expressive hands, charming awkward intimacy, rich emerald, ultramarine, coral, ochre, and dusty lavender, dynamic composition, richly layered opaque oil painting, energetic brushwork, dry chalk accents, intricate environmental details, imaginative and emotionally warm illustration.
