Inspiration: Giant Tree, Cthulhu Mythos, K'thun. This painting depicts K'thun, one of the Outer Gods in the Cthulhu Mythos, the Mother of Races, a little-known Outer God. Ancient Asian tribes described her as a terrifying, pale gray giant tree with tentacles instead of branches and roots, and a giant eye in its crown. K'thun created many species throughout the evolutionary history of life on Earth, capable of absorbing biological matter to create new life.
K'thun combined with a part of Noth-Yidik's body to create the Hounds of Tindalos, and is also said to have created dinosaur-like creatures in early Earth. After absorbing biological matter, K'thun enters a slumber, during which she spiritually shapes life forms from the absorbed matter, releasing them from the mother when they mature. Unlike Upo Sasra, few of the creatures created by this Outer God survive. Those that do often transform into truly terrifying monsters, possessing natures and abilities incomprehensible to humans.
